Pleasant. John went to Springfield. I washed and went up and called on Susan this forenoon. Mother went up to Martin Gibbons’ this afternoon. I ironed and Silas was here a witching around. He is about sick and so is not to work. I had the appearance of being very gay but it has only in appearance for coming back to Granville puts me in the mind again of all the trials I past through before I went away and it seems even now as if I could not endure it.
