Hardened hearts.

September 11

September 11.

Pleasant and cool.  All attended church and Mother, Paulina and I went over to hear Mrs. Henry again in the forenoon.  Her text was Heb. 4th 14th-15th + 16th verses.  Mr. Humphrey preached in the afternoon from the words, “Harden not your heart” but I was much more interested in the forenoon than in the afternoon discourse.  I did not care to go in the evening so I went up to see Susan and a long talk with her and Uncle Jacob.  They came [along?] and sung.  Paulina played the organ.

Pittsfield Sun. Week of September 8. Slate Pencils.
