August 31.
Pleasant. John carried Elvira back to Hartland this afternoon and I went with them up to the female prayer meeting at Mrs. Francis’s. After meeting Emma and I came down to Dickinson’s drum shop. I walked home. In the eve Frank came down and really seemed something like himself again, but I was very tired and nervous and not liking some of his remarks. I resented rather sharp so he did not enjoy his stay at all and did not ask him to come again ever.
