July 28.
Seven months ago tonight.
Cloudy. Paulina and I rode around in Southwick this forenoon–first we went to the Steer’s and got an order for my money, then we went to Mr. Fowler’s and got it then around to Mrs. Kellogg’s and paid my board. In the afternoon Silas, Ellen, Frankie, and I went over to Mr. Marvin’s but did not see Alice. She is miserable and I offered to watch with her some night. From there we went up by Mr. Humphrey’s and staid to tea–had a very good time. His niece and also a friend was there a visiting. When we came home I saw Frank again but all he said was “Hallo” and that was addressed to Ellen as much as me.
